Ohio State Football: Marvin Harrison Jr, Tommy Eichenberg get All-American honors

The Ohio State football team is continuing to get some honors as the season ends. Marvin Harrison Jr. won the Biletnikoff Award for the best receiver in the country and finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting. He was the best receiver in the country so that made sense.

Harrison Jr. was also voted as First-team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America today. He was the best player on the Ohio State football team all year long. If he wasn’t on the team, the Buckeyes would have lost the Notre Dame game and maybe even the Wisconsin team.

He wasn’t the only one to get All-America honors. Tommy Eichenberg was named Second-team All-America by the writers as well. He ends his Buckeye career with another solid season and is looking forward to being in the NFL next year as a second or third-round pick.

As of right now, both Buckeyes are expected to play in the Cotton Bowl. Harrison Jr. came out and forcefully said he’s playing in the bowl game for sure. In fact, I’m surprised that there haven’t been many opt-outs so far. Besides Miyan Williams, the only players not playing are guys who are in the portal.

It will be nice to see both players play one final game as Buckeyes. They are guys who deserve love and adoration from Buckeye fans. Harrison Jr. will get a tree in Buckeye Grove because he was a unanimous All-American both this year and last year, which is crazy.

I can’t wait to see what both guys do at the next level. It’s just a shame that they both leave without having won a Big Ten title or beating TTUN. No Buckeye should go through an entire career without either of those things happening.
