Thanksgiving travel rush: Millions of Americans, including thousands of Oregonians, set to hit the road and skies

PORTLAND, Ore. — More than 55 million Americans are planning to travel for Thanksgiving this week.

It’s expected to be the third-busiest Thanksgiving travel week since the year 2000.
About 8% of people will fly, including 97,000 Oregonians.
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg says the FAA is working with airlines to plan around any bad weather.
Nearly 89% of people will be driving, including about 671,000 Oregonians.
Officials say Wednesday afternoon is listed as the worst time to hit the road.
