Thomas Flohr’s Vision Fuels VistaJet’s US Growth With Bombardier Global 7500

Vista founder Thomas Flohr will introduce a fleet of Global 7500s to business travelers in the U.S. in an upcoming nationwide tour.

NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / May 13, 2024 / As it marks its 20th anniversary, Vista, the world’s leading private aviation group, is launching an unprecedented tour across the United States to showcase the capabilities of its newly dedicated American fleet of Bombardier Global 7500 aircraft. The tour emphasizes Vista founder Thomas Flohr’s ongoing commitment to meeting the sophisticated demands of business aviation, connecting the U.S. with global destinations.

The tour includes stops in New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas, San Jose, California, and Palm Beach, Florida. At each stop, Vista will introduce its services to interested businesses and individuals, focusing on the Bombardier Global 7500, the longest-range private jet in the world. The tour also serves as something of a celebration for Vista, the parent company of VistaJet and XO, and its robust growth in the U.S. market.

When Swiss-born Thomas Flohr launched VistaJet in 2004, the company focused primarily on Europe. The U.S. is now one of the company’s fastest-growing markets.

“The U.S. is a mature business aviation market, yet there’s a gap for clients who need a consistent solution for both domestic and international travel. We see strong demand for the long-haul, nonstop capabilities of the Global 7500,” said Leona Qi, president of VistaJet U.S.

“Our newly dedicated U.S. fleet enhances our ability to meet this need comprehensively, from Texas to Alaska, Chicago to Hawaii, and Seattle to Anguilla. Vista is uniquely positioned to fulfill this demand as the only company to offer connectivity at this scale.”

Vista America Launched to Focus on North American Clients

Guided by Thomas Flohr and his team of experienced industry leaders, Vista has disrupted the private business jet industry with its subscription-based model that saves enterprises the cost of purchasing and maintaining their own aircraft. As a Vista member, they receive around-the-clock access to the company’s fleet of 300-plus jets – including 18 Bombardier Global 7500s – and luxury service.

The company is truly global in nature, having flown to airports in 96% of the world’s countries. It recently focused on expanding its reach into the U.S. with the support of Vista America.

Vista America will operate the Vista Members’ fleet in the United States for VistaJet and XO clients with Vista’s operating partners in the U.S., which includes Jet Select, Western Air Charter and Red Wing Aviation.

Shortly after the announcement about Vista America, Vista reported double-digit growth in all territories and 17% growth in on-fleet hours globally. Much of the growth is driven by increases in its Program membership, including increased demand for flights in the U.S.

Vista Dedicates Fleet of Global 7500s to the North American Market

As it has grown worldwide, Vista has also become the largest operator of Global 7500s. The company recently introduced these state-of-the-art jets through Vista America, specifically catering to North American business travelers seeking reliable travel solutions for both domestic and international routes.

The Global 7500 aircraft boasts an industry-leading 17-hour flying range and features a luxurious cabin with four distinct living areas, designed to accommodate business meetings, relaxation, and family travel. This remarkable aircraft also provides clients unparalleled comfort and connectivity.

Vista also continues to expand its operations through continuous investment in infrastructure, technology, and personnel. The company has set a new industry standard with client-centric initiatives, including the pioneering VistaJet Wellness program. This program offers ergonomic seating and jet lag-reducing technologies, enhancing the onboard experience.

Furthermore, Vista’s dedication to refining onboard services is evident in their partnerships that curate unforgettable experiences, unlimited fast Wi-Fi, and elevated private dining standards.

For Vista Members, guaranteed availability on the Global 7500 represents a significant benefit, allowing them to enjoy the luxuries of guaranteed availability for flying on an aircraft valued at over $70 million, without the need to invest directly in purchasing the asset. Additionally, flights can be conveniently booked via XO, based on availability.

The Global 7500 is in demand in the U.S. Vista reports a 76% increase in the aircraft’s U.S. flight hours in 2023. In addition, Vista members in North America added 38% more hours to their Global 7500 subscription in 2023.

Thomas Flohr and the Subscription-Based Private Jet Model

Thomas Flohr founded Vista in 2018 as the parent company for both VistaJet and XO. VistaJet provides business travelers a subscription-based mode for private jet travel. XO is a private aviation network that offers clients the chance to book flights on over 2,400 aircraft through its online interface.

Flohr, who previously worked in asset finance, launched VistaJet in 2004 after experiencing unsatisfactory options for booking private jet business travel. He wanted to create a firm that focuses on the client’s needs and provides high-end service. By creating a subscription service that eliminated the need to own a jet, he also made business travel accessible to more companies.

Flohr’s focus on continually improving and expanding what Vista offers aligns with his advice on running a business, as does his commitment to transparency.

“Honesty and straightforwardness always get you the farthest. Your word must be your bond. And that’s the principle I live by,” Flohr said in an interview with Peter Fuda, DBA, a leadership and business transformation expert. Flohr added that the global scale of the company demands a constant focus on improving.

Thomas Flohr told Fuda that Vista is “serving the most influential and smartest people in the world and they do have the highest standards. To bring them together to work in all those different time zones, being omnipresent, basically, at any given point in time – is certainly one of the biggest challenges.”
