Why has Jennifer Lopez canceled seven dates of her North American tour? Here is what we know

Why has Jennifer Lopez canceled seven dates of her first North American tour in support of her new album ‘This Is Me… Now‘? She has not given any explanation, but Ticketmaster on Wednesday put the dates spanning August 20-31 in Cleveland, Nashville, Raleigh, Atlanta, Tampa, New Orleans and Houston as canceled. The dates for the Cleveland and Houston concerts had been removed earlier from the itinerary because they were a part of the tour’s originally announced itinerary on February 24.

Logistical issues?

‘Page Six’ reported that there was a logistical issue and that the affected concerts may be rescheduled. The entertainment news outlet also said Ticketmaster in a message posted on its website has blamed ‘the event organizer’ for the cancellations.

Seats remain unsold?

According to ‘Variety, considering the seat charts on Ticketmaster.com., large numbers of tickets for most of the tour’s dates remain unsold. It also said the blue (available) segments of the seating charts on most dates are much larger than the grey (unavailable) ones.

Jennifer Lopez remarried actor Ben Affleck in 2022, nearly two decades after the high-profile superstar couple originally split in 2003 in the wake of the flop romantic comedy ‘Gigli’.

Her new album, the first in a decade, also titled ‘This Is Me…Now’, debuted at a disappointing No. 38 on the Billboard 200 last month.

Upcoming projects

The Sci-fi thriller ‘Atlas‘ filmed from September to November 2022 in Los Angeles and New Zealand, is the third project of Jennifer Lopez under her Netflix deal. She will also star alongside Jharrel Jerome in William Goldenberg’s biographical wrestling drama ‘Unstoppable‘. Produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, it will be based on the life of wrestler Anthony Robles. Lopez will also star in the Bill Condon-directed film adaptation of the Broadway musical ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’, which she will also executive produce.
